Sandy didn’t hit inland Connecticut as badly as Irene or Alfred, but there was still damage in my neighborhhod–seemingly localized in my yard.

The wind knocked over one of my only trees remaining from last year, and it blew the roof off my shed.

The morning after the storm passed, I went out to survey the damage. Within minutes my neighbors came with power drills and chainsaws; everything was cleaned up and fixed by the early afternoon.

All I can say is thanks! It’s amazing how hardship brings people together. I hope you live in such way that it is easy to receive–and to give–help when needed.
